Bringebær-Raspberry


Vi er så heldige å ha tilgang til friske bær hele året.På sommeren dominere de norske fra skog og hage,mens resten as året importerer vi.De fleste bær inneholder mye fiber,vitaminer,og mineraler,og ikke minst så er de en stor kilde til antioksidanter.
bjørnebær,bringebær,blåbær,jordbær,solbær,tyttebær...
^^--^^ For to dager siden gikk Tom Yum Koong og svigermora hennes inn skogen for å plukke bær.På skogen fant de bare bringebær og litt solbær.Da de plukket bær,regnet det litt.Tom Yum Koong tenkte at det var svært kjedelig når det regner,så hun gledet seg til å gå hjem.Uansett det kunne hun ikke gå hjem fordi svigermora hennes hadde lyst til å plukke mer.Stakkars Tom Yum Koong.:-) Likevel fikk de nok bringebær til for å lage syltetøy.Da var hun fornøyd igjen!

Tom Yum Kung Naam Sai(Rekesuppe Namm Sai)

Ingredienser(Ingredients):Til 3-4 personer(3-4 servings)
  • 20 reker---20 prawns(shrimp),medium size
  • 1 l vann---1 l water
  • 2 sitrongress,skåret på skrå i ca. 2-3 cm lange biter---2 stalks lemon grass,lightly pounded,cut into 2-3 cm long segments
  • 4 ss fiskesaus ---4 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 10 skiver galanga(kha)---10 sliced fresh galanga
  • 4-5 kaffirlimeblader---4-5 kaffir lime leaves,shredded
  • 3-4 ss saften av lime---3-4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 5-6 Thai røde chili---5-6 crushed fresh Thai chili peppers
  • 2 tomater---2 tomatoes,sliced
  • 3 sjalottløk---3 shallots,lightly pounded
  • 2 ss"prik pao"---2 tablespoons"Prik Pao" roasted chili in oil.
  • Pynt:koriander---Fresh coriander(cilantro)for garnish

Method:

  1. Rens og vask rekene.--Wash the shrimps and shell them without removing the tails.
  2. Kok opp vannet og tilsett kaffirlimeblader,sitrongress,galanga,og sjalottløk.--Boil the water and then add kaffir lime leaves,lemon grass,galanga and shallot.
  3. Kok opp igjen og tilsett fiskesaus,prik pao og saften av lime.--Bring back to a boil then add fish sauce,prik pao and lime juice.
  4. Ha i rekene og rød chili.Kok opp og la suppen trekke ca.5-10 minutter til rekene blir røde--Put shrimps and fresh chili peppers in a pot.Let cook about 5-10 minutes until the shrimps turn pink.
  5. Tilsett tomater.Pynt suppen med koriander.Serv med varm ris.--Add tomato and serve garnished with coriander(cilantro).Serve with warm rice.

Tomatoes are small,soft,red fruit that you can eat raw in salads or cooked as a vegetable:-)

Chicken/Pork with Chili pepper!


Gai/Moo Pad Prig
2 servings
Ingredients:
  • 4-6 Thai chili pepper,minced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic,minced
  • 2-3 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 - 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 300 g Pork or Chicken
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot

Method:

  1. slice the onion and carrot.
  2. Fry the garlic and chili pepper in oil over high heat.When garlic starts to turn brown,drop the pork in.Stir constantly. And then add onion and carrot.The juice will start to come out.Keep stirring a couple of minutes.Add sugar and fish sauce.
  3. Serve hot with rice.
  4. Enjoy!

Miss Universe 2005


Miss Universe อ่านแล้วดูรูปนะน่าประทับใจมาก ขอบอก…คนไทยได้อะไรจากการประกวด Miss Universe หลังจากที่ได้ดูเทปบันทึกการประกวด Miss Universe 2006 จบ สิ่งแรกที่ได้รับจากการประกวดในครั้งนี้คือ ความรู้สึกประทับใจและภูมิใจ ซึ่งคิดว่าคนไทยหลายๆคนที่ได้ดูการประกวดนี้ก็คงจะรู้สึกเช่นนี้ด้วย ความประทับใจและความภูมิใจนี้ไม่ได้เกิดจากการที่ได้เห็นนางงามคนใหม่ที่ได้รับตำแหน่ง Miss Universe 2006 แต่ความประทับใจและความภูมิใจนั้นเกิดขึ้นเมื่อเห็นการอำลาตำแหน่งของ นาตาลี เกลโบวา Miss Universe 2005 ซึ่งเธอได้รักษาคำสัญญาที่เธอให้ไว้กับคนไทยว่าจะช่วยเผยแพร่วัฒนธรรมไทย ตั้งแต่นาทีแรกจนนาทีสุดท้ายเธอก็ยังคงไม่เคยลืมสัญญา ในช่วงของการอำลาตำแหน่งเธอได้ก้าวเข้ามาอยู่กลางเวทีแล้วก้มลงไหว้อย่างสวยงาม เพื่อขอบคุณสื่อมวลชนและประชาชน(อย่างที่เด็กไทยบางคนยังไหว้ได้ไม่สวยเท่าที่เธอไหว้) แต่สิ่งที่เห็นแล้วถึงกับขนลุกด้วยความปลาบปลื้มก็คือ สายรัดข้อมือสีเหลืองสด เรารักพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ที่นาตาลีได้ใส่ไว้ที่ข้อมือข้างซ้ายแทนที่เครื่องประดับอื่นที่น่าจะเข้ากับชุดราตรีสีน้ำเงินเข้มมากกว่า มันยิ่งทำให้เกิดความประทับและภูมิใจยิ่งขึ้น ขอบคุณที่คุณให้เกียรติเมืองไทยและช่วยเผยแพร่วัฒนธรรมไทยอันดีแก่ชาวโลก

Red Curry-Bamboo shoot(strips)


Hi all,I just cooked my popular dish in this morning,so I would like to recommend my specail dish to you.It's quite easy to make and also good taste.Just try it:-).And please don't forget letting me know after you try it.Ok,let's go!

Red Curry-Bamboo Shoot(strips)*Gang gai Naw mai*
Gang gai is eaten with rice,but I have eaten it with ”kanom jeen” noodle when I was young.I think it’s also delicious.Just try itJ
You can see chiken curry’s popularity when you go to a temple in Thailand;Thai people frequently bring the classic dishes like chinken curry to feed the monks and other temple patrons.

3-4 servings

Ingredients
3 cups water
4-5 sprigs Thai basil
4-5 kaffir lime leaves
3 tablespoons fish sauce
250-300 g bamboo shoot(strips)
2-3 tablespoons red curry paste (It takes time to make it,so I select to buy it from the Asia supermaket,but in Thaialnd I usually make it.)
2 cup coconutmilk(already in the can)
300 g chicken breat
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sugar
If you would like it spicy, add more red curry pasteJ .But for me,I prefer a spicy
dish!


Method
· Cut up the chicken into bite size pieces.If you have this dish in Thaialnd,you will see that the chicken comes with bones.All parts such as legs and things can be used.The bone make the curry more flavorfulJ.
· Use high heat and pour vegetable oil in the big pot.Add the red curry paste and stir about 1-2 minutes.Put half of the coconut milk(1 cup) into a big pot,over low to medium low heat.Break up the paste and mix it with coconut milk.Stir constantly.Lower the heat if it splatters too muchJ
· Add chicken when you see red oil bubbling on top.Stir and coat chicken with curry sauce.Add the bamboo shoot when chicken starts to turn white.Add the rest of the coconutmilk(1 cup) and water.Let it boils a couple minute and then add kaffir lime leaves,fish sauce,sugar.
· Let it boils about 5-7 minutes.Add the Thai basil leaves just before you serve and make sure the leaves are submerged.
· Serve hot with rice
* Before you serve,you can taste it if you think that you need more fish sauce or a litte bit sugar,just add it in the pot.*

I dag dro jeg til tempelet for å *Dhamboon*.På tempelet møtte jeg mange snille mennesker som kommer fra forskjellige steder.Noen bor så lang fra Oslo,så de måtte kjøre lang vei.Likevel kom de til tempel for å gjøre gode ting samme med andre.Nå er den sommerferie,så jeg har ganske mye tid til å gjøre hva jeg vil.Men etter at skolen begynner,har jeg ikke mye tid å dra til tempel:(
I morges sto jeg opp klokka åtte for å lage mat.Jeg pleier å lage Thai mat,for jeg kan lage bare Thai mat!Hehehe:-)
For to dager siden leste jeg oppskrift som forteller om sterk mat.Det er veldig interessant,men det står på norsk,så jeg brukte mye tid til å oversette i hodet mitt.Jeg har aldri prøvd å lage norskmat før.Selvfølgelig,hvis jeg laget,la jeg deg vet.
Well,I dag vil jeg fortelle om hvodan jeg laget *Tom Jabchai*

***For vegetarian dish*** 6 servings!

Thai vegetable Stew(Tom Jabchai)

Ingredients(Using 10 different vegetables)
  1. Cabbage 300 g
  2. Chinese mustard cabbage(pak guang tong) 300 g
  3. Chinese broccoli(kanah) 300 g
  4. daikon (hoa chai tou) 300 g
  5. mushroom 300 g
  6. cilantro root (rak pak chee) 3-4 roots
  7. garlic 4-5
  8. tofu-cubed deep fried 3-4 cubes
  9. palm sugar 1 tablespoon
  10. salt 2 teaspoons
  11. soy sauce 2 tablespoons
  12. vegetable oil 2 tablespoons
  13. Maggi sauce 1 tablespoon
  14. dark soy sauce (sew ew dum) 1-2 tablespoon
  15. Chinese chives-green 200 g
  16. celery 300 g

Method

  1. Cut cabbage into 8 big pieces,and cut all vegetable into moderate sized chunks.
  2. Heat a wok to high heat and then add 2 tablespoons of oil.Drop in the chopped garlic and cilantro root and stir.Add all vegetable and then add some water,salt,soy sauce,palm sugar and Maggi sauce.Stir to cook about 5 minute and then put all in a big pot.Add mushroom,tofu-cubed deep fried,and dark soy sauce.
  3. Remove from the heat and serve when the vegetables are done.
  4. Enjoy!

If you like meat,you can add some meat such as pork,duck,chicken... But for me,I think that it tasty and delicious although no meat!

Sommerferien i Bergen!


Denne sommerferien reiste jeg til Bergen for å besøke onkelen til mannen min.Vi har vært der veldig kort tid bare en uke.Denne er første gang reiste jeg til vestlandet.Jeg synes at Bergen har veldig fin natur med små øyer,store fjell,og mange fjorder!Første tre dager har jeg vært bare i byen,og siste tre dager bodde jeg i hytta på lita øya!Det er veldig fint tid for meg.Jeg gikk ut på båten for å fiske,fikk jeg bare en makrell i først dagen.Men etter at jeg fikk mange makreller:-)Oh!En dag fikk vi en kjempestor fisk.Jeg er ikke sikker hva den heter?Men noen sa at den heter langfisk!Jeg synes det er veldig fint navnet fordi den er en veldig lang fisk som jeg aldri har sett før,tror jeg.Det er nesten 1,6 meter lang,og vekten mer 15 kilo.

Wat Thai Norway i Norge!


Hei Hei Tom Yum Koong:-),Takk for din e-post også.Beklager hvis jeg svarer på e-posten din for sent fordi jeg er ganske opptatt.Ingen!Jeg vil bare lese bøkene som jeg har lånt fra biblioteket for flere uker siden.Jeg skal klare dem før de blir levert tilbake!Men de fleste av bøkene er Thai,hehehe!Jeg er glad til å lese Thai bøkene fordi det er mye lettere for å forstå.Likevel liker jeg å lese norskebøkene osgå,men jeg må bruke mye tid hvis jeg leser dem.Av og til jeg er lat til å åpne ordboka.Jeg vet at det ikke er godt:(
I morgen skal jeg dra til Thai tempelet for *Dhamboon* på Wat Thai-Norway.Jeg likte å dra til tempelet da jeg bodde i Thailand også.I Thailand er det lettere å gå til tempelet fordi det ikke ligger så lang fra huset til mora mi.Men her må min mann kjøre bil hjemmefra omtrent en halv time.Jeg kan ikke kjøre bil,men jeg skal prøve etter jeg snakker ganske bra norsk:-)Kunne du undervise hvordan man kjører bil?

Flowers out side balcony!



Hi again,these are some flowers which I have planted out side and in side my balcony, and the red rose which I got from my husband's friend when he came to visit us,Tom Yam Koong:-)

Thai vegetables on my balcony!Let's see!



This is the first time I have planted some vegetables on balcony.It's very interesting for looking at them and waiting to pick.Would you like to see what kind of vegetables I have planted.I have planted spearmint ,holy basil and Thai basil which I bought from the Asia Supermarket,and I used the rest of stems for planting,hehehe!!And now you can see how it's amazing.I'm really proud of them coz I don't buy it anymore.I think at it's a good way to save some money for my clothes,right?Just kidding,I have enough clothes now!And I have planted some flowers out side my balcony too,Tom Yum Koong:-)

Utrolige tomatplantene!


Tomat er en grønnsak.Planten er i dag spredt over hele verden,og har en sentral plass i mange kulturers matlaging.Tomatplanten er ettårig og blir fra 0,5 til 1,5 meter lang,med en hårete grønn stengel.

Jeg har plantet to tomater for nesten tre måneder siden,men jeg synes at det er utrolig fordi tomatene er høyere enn 1,8 meter.Og forrige uka regnet ut jeg hvor mange tomater jeg har fått.Nå har jeg hatt ti tomater på de kjempestore tomatene mine.Jeg plantet tomatene på min balkong,og nå er de kjempestore.Vil du se hvor store er?Let's go!

Grønnsaker--Opprinnelig


I dag leste jeg Aften avisa om grønnsaker.Jeg synes den er veldig interessant,so jeg skal skrive på bloggen min.Og hvis du ikke leste den,so du kan lese her,Tom yum koong:-)
Tomat:

Kommer opprinnelig fra Sør-Amerika,og kom til Europa med Columbus.
Tomatplanten ble først brukt som prydplante,og det var først på 1800-tallet at tomat ble populær som mat i Italia og andre land rundt Middelhavet.
Så sent som etter første verdenskrig at tomat ble akseptert og vanlig i Nord-Europa.Kalorifattig og rik på A-og C-vitaminer,i tillegg til mineraler.

Agurk:
Kommer opprinnelig fra Indai,der den fortsatt vokser vilt ved foten av Himalaya.
Kom til Norge på 1600-tallet.
Mest vanlig i handelen er salatagurk eller slangeagurk.
Inneholder mye vann,og har lav næringsverdi.
Inneholder likevel noen A- og C-vitaminer,samt kalsium og jern.

Gulrot:
Opprinnelig fra Midtøsten og Sentral-Asia,hvor den har vært dyrket i minst 2000 år.
Den friske,oransje fargen kommer av karoten,som omdannes til vitamin A i organismen vår.
Inneholder en del av andre vitaminer også,foruten kalium og jern.

Rapidsalat:
Krysning av bataviasalat,som er blitt populær i Norge etter at man begynte å dyrke den i drivhus.
Salaten har lange,krøllete blader som er tynne og sprø.
Mild og god i smaken og egner seg spesielt godt til å pynte smørbrød og fat.
Salaten inneholder noe A-,B- og C- vitaminer,samt kalium og kalsium.

" Khai Look Koei "


Tom Yum Kung sto opp tidlig i dag fordi hun ville dra til Thai-Norway tempel.Først måtte hun lage mat,og så tok hun mat til tempel.I dag laget hun Thaimat,Son In Law Eggs(Khai Look Koei) og Pork Basil(Moo Pad Gra Pow),men hun vil gjerne fortelle dere om hvordan hun laget Khai Look Koei.Det er gaske lett å lage,og det er deling også.
Let's go........

Son In Law Eggs(Khai look Koei)
Ingredients 2-3 servings
6 eggs
5 fried whole dried chiles(fried in oil)
citantro leaves
2 tablespoons sliced shallots
1/3 cup sugar(palm sugar)
3 tablespoons fish sauce
1/3 -1/2 cup (tamarind concentrate mix with water)
vegetable oil for frying
Method
1. Hard-boil the eggs and let it in cold water,then peel.
2. Put vegetable oil in wok or a pan,and heat a wok medium high.Then add the eggs and fry until the eggs turn golden brown around the outer surface.Remove the eggs from oil.
3. In the same oil,fry shallots until brown.Then put palm sugar,fish sauce and the tamarind mixture.Stir constantly until it thickens.Taste should be sour,salty and sweet.Remove it from the fire and out it in a small bowl.
4. Cut the eggs in half and place face-up on a dish.Spread shallots over the eggs.Pour liquid mixture over the eggs and garnish with cilantro and serve the fried chiles in a separate dish.

Tom Yun Kungs vår rull


Fried Spring Rolls(Vår Rull)

Ingredients

1. spring roll pastry(Spring roll wrapper) 50 sheets
2. mung beans 200 g
3. cabbage,sliced 200 g
4. bean sprouts 200 g
5. ground pepper ½ - 1 teaspoon
6. soy sauce 5-6 tablespoons
7. garlic,sliced 1-2 tablespoons
8. egg 1
9. carrot,thinly sliced 50 g
10. ground chicken 200 g
11. clear noodles 100 g
12. vegetable oil for frying

Method

1. Soak the mung beans in water about 3-4 hours and then boil on high heat about 1 hour.Remove the mung beans when cooked,and grind the mung beans in mortar.
2. Soak the clear noodles in lukewarm water while preparing the other ingredients,for 10-15 mintues.
3. Cut the clear noodles into piece 0.5-1 inch long.
4. Put clear noodle,ground mung beans,cabbage,bean sprouts,ground pepper,soy sauce,carrot,garlic,ground chicken and egg in a big bowl for mixing that will hold all the ingredients.—Mix everything in a big bowlJ
5. Place 1-2 tablespoons on each Spring roll wrapper.Roll up and fold the edge,sealing with cold water.
6. Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
7. Serve with Sweet and Sour Sauce(Or you can buy the Sweet chilli sauce for spring roll from the supermakets)
8. Enjoy your foodJ

Hils fra Tom Yam Kung!

For flere dager siden fikk jeg en e-post fra en mann som bor her.Det er veldig hyggelig å få et hilse brev fra ham.Han hadde flere spørsmål,og jeg prøvde å svare alt,men jeg var ikke helt sikker at han kunne forstå nosken min,så jeg prøvde å forklare i engelsk også.Det måtte være merkelig e-posten fra meg:-)

Jeg er enig med ham at det er aller viktigst at man må lære norsk hvis man bor her.Jeg er glad til å lære norsk også selv om det er ikke lett!Jeg har planer om å ta noen utdannelser her,men snart blir jeg 30 år gammel,så jeg synes først må jeg få et barn :-)
Hva slags yrke har du tenkt deg at du skal ha i fremtiden?Jeg hadde vært matematisk lærer når jeg bodde i hjemlandet mitt,så jeg vil gjeren bil lærer her også.Men først og fremst vil jeg gjerne bli mamma:-).Er det greit?

Var det vanskelig å treffe andre thailendere da du kom til Norge?Først kom jeg til Norge,kjente jeg ikke andre thailendere her,men etter at jeg har gått på norskkurs,møtte jeg flere thailendere.Jeg fikk two snille thaikvinner der også.Det er kjempegøy fordi vi kan prate vårt språk når vi har pause på skole,og av og til kunne vi gå på tur sammen.Det gjøres jeg er ikke ensome.På skolen møter jeg mange nye venner fra andre land også.Selvfølgelig,jeg kjedet meg mye da jeg var hjemme.Jeg måtte være hjem alene fordi min mann må gå på jobben,men etter at jeg fikk mange venner det gjør jeg er bedre.Jeg kan ringe til dem da savner jeg til å snakke om Thai:-)Men jeg liker ikke baksnakker,så vi pleier å snakke om mat,reiser,vårt land,


Nå er klokka 11,skal jeg legge meg snart.Fordi i morgen skal jeg til Thai-Norway tempel.

Tom Yum Kung ( ต้มยํากุ้ง )sweet and sour prawn soup with lemon grass.


:Sterk suppe med scampi, sitrongress, koriander blad, tomat, Kaffir lime og galangal.
:Spicy scampi soup, with lemongrass, coriander leaves, tomato, Lime leaves and galangal.

Tom yam kung is a favourite amongst many visitors to Thailand.It is a sweet and sour prawn soup with lemon grass which can be made as spicy as you want.Normally, this soup is made with shrimps (thereby the name 'kung') but also other seafoods such as crab or squid can be used. Most people find shrimps to be their favourite.
